About the Trolli Gummy Pop Candy Commercial

Trolli Gummi Pops are a wild mashup of chewy gummy candy and icy popsicle texture — the kind of product that makes you say “who asked for this?” and “please give me five.”

The commercial captures that weird energy with close-ups of the candy’s wobbly tip which definitely doesn’t look like anything else what’s wrong with you.

Scott Watson and Kevin Saunders star as two night security guards who have really bitten off more than they can chew this time when a trail of Trolli mayhem leads them to discover a secret fridge of Trolli Gummy Popsicles guarded by an ancient, powerful, gummy mama.

We shot this latest strange, creepy and wonderful Trolli Candy Commercial in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas, which I had actually never been too before! While a lot of my time there was spent on set, I did get a change to explore this charming, funky, Texas arts town on my down time and most importantly, eat a lot of barbecue (I’m team ribs, but I understand and respect team Briquet.)

My talented co-star was Kevin Saunders traveling in from Atlanta to play Security Guard Mike, and thanks to the visionary Finnish director Nalle Sjöblad Kevin and I were able to stay in the spooky mood while also being given a really long leash my Nalle to improvise, experiment, and be professional goofballs.

The 80’s horror movie vibe was perfectly captured by Cinematographer Max Smeds, who was also instrumental in describing to us exactly what a giant mama gummy worm sneaking up behind us might look like.

The Agency, Digitas North America, and Production team at Spark & Riot were both absolute pros and lovely people, making every step of the way smooth and fun!

The client, Trolli, was also on-set and really let Nalle, Max, Kevin and express our own creativity and explore our own ideas which is always the greatest gift on a commercial shoot where yes, we’re making an ad, but we’re also professional actors, directors, cinematographers coming together to tell a compelling story, one that has to grab audiences attention quickly and earn their time and interest. And thanks to this bombastic, fantastic cast and crew, I think we nailed it. Thanks Trolli.

About Scott Watson

Scott Watson is a New York-based commercial actor known for countless national commercials throughout the years, recently with Grammarly’s Underwater Office ad campaign and a new and hilarious GoDaddy commercial spotting Scott in yet another mullet wig.

Maybe he would book more work if he just grew his hair into a mullet, but Scott refuses based on principle. Scott’s standards may be arbitrary and random, but he is rock-solid in his opinion that he shouldn’t have a mullet, no-one should, how is it popular again HOW?

Scott’s signature mustache can also be found in Duolingo’s “Living With Lily,” sitcom, playing Lily’s Dad in every episode of Season One.

Scott’s mustache has also taken a more sinister turn when Scott Watson starred as Richard Cottingham the Times Square Killer in Netflix’s Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer.

Scott would like to thank his mustache, the hardest working mustache in show-business, his wonderful partner Amanda Lea Mason, my Rep Gina at DDO who is perhaps the greatest agent of all time and his senior chihuahua Peanut who only has one tooth and enjoys spending his time eating and farting into couch pillows.
